People prefer sunscreens that are pleasant and easy to use
30 years of research and market experience have taught us that people demand a product that ‘feels light’ on the skin. Products that feel greasy make it hard to enjoy outdoor activities as they leave your skin feeling sticky and uncomfortable.
Our exclusive no residue Vantec system has been developed to provide a protective UV Barrier on the skin which feels light and unobtrusive. Our products feel like they have ‘vanished’ into the skin while providing a vital layer of Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
Who wants to look like they’ve seen a ghost?
Many Zinc Oxide based sunscreens leave the skin looking pale. This look may have been considered OK in the 60’s, but technology has moved on significantly since then. We leave the Zinc for use on the noses of our Surf Lifesavers.
Treat the Sun with Respect
We now know that the ‘sun bronzed Aussie’ look is not necessarily a healthy one. Years of Medical Research have revealed the dangers of Sun exposure, which include premature ageing, and Skin Cancer. The harsh Australian climate requires us to be World Leaders in the area of Sunscreen Development. Our products provide vital Broad Spectrum UVA and UVB protection in accordance with Australian Standards, while our exclusive Vantec system provides superb skin feel and ease of use.
Avoid sun exposure between the times of 11am – 3pm as that is when UV levels are at their highest.
Always use an SPF 45 on children. It provides the highest protection factor in the range.
Infants and young children should always wear hats and clothing when out in the sun. A sunscreen product should not be relied on as the primary means of protection.
For sensitive skin, try the Australian ProGard™ Sun SPF 45 Kids Trigger Spray. The fragrance-free formula employs lower actives making it suitable for all skin types
Don’t just rely on sunscreen. Always wear a hat, sunglasses and clothing when in the sun.
Apply your sunscreen liberally 20 minutes before sun exposure so it leaves adequate time for your skin to absorb the lotion’s protective elements
Make sure your sunscreen has both UVA and UVB protection (broad spectrum).
Make sure you apply sunscreen on overcast days; even when the sky is cloudy the sun’s ultra violet rays still reach the earth’s surface.
Reapply your sunscreen at regular intervals (at least every 1 – 2 hours) and especially after swimming, towel drying or exercising.
